Alterations, the Good Kinds

As the year winds down, I am pleased that there is less of me than when the year got started. About 20 pounds less. Going back to the end of the 2001 regular legislative session, about 30 pounds of me are absent, and they’re not the least bit missed.
I haven’t been as good as I could have been. My diet could have been stricter and my exercise plan more consistent. But 2004 will go down as the year I returned to a near grad-school weight. One of the many good consequences of the year’s weightloss is the need to have my suits and sportscoats altered. As in taken in. I took five jackets and several pairs of pants to a tailor today to have them all taken in. I’ve also drifted closer to normal sized clothing, which made the wardrobe replacement effort much easier.
